Ruto to elevate Kericho town to city status.

According to President William Ruto, KSh5.6 billion is being invested in the first 2,200 affordable housing units of a total 5,000. A Special Economic Zone will also be established to attract investment and unlock digital opportunities.


He says that the construction of the KSh1 billion Kabianga Medical School in Kericho town will begin shortly. "Additionally, we are also building Londiani and Kericho Referral hospitals to strengthen healthcare in the county." Said the president.

He said KSh1.1 billion is also being invested in the building of Kapkatet Stadium and another KSh1 billion in Kericho town.

According to Ruto, the government have also secured KSh1.6 billion for the Kapkatet and Litein water projects, with another KSh400 million for Kericho town. A KSh1.6 billion last-mile electricity programme will connect 16,000 households in the county.

The head of the state also Launched construction of the 34km Panda Pilis-Kampala/Bokoiyot-Mabasi road in Bureti Constituency, Kericho County,said that the road will improve connectivity and ease the movement of farm produce to markets.
